Bringing Your Loved One Into Our Care

We are contactable at any time of the day or night, 365 days of the year, where our experienced staff will be on hand to support and assist you.

When you contact us to inform us of a death, our member of staff will ask a few questions in order to advise you of the next steps. We will usually ask for the following information:

  • Details of the person who has died
  • Details of the next of kin
  • Where the person has died
  • The deceased’s GP
  • The deceased’s wishes with regards to burial or cremation

When our staff have attended the place of death, your loved one will be conveyed to our chapel of rest, where they will rest in our care until the day of their funeral.

Should you wish for your loved one to rest at a particular one of our chapel of rests, please just let us know.

Our Private Chapels of Rest

Park Street Chapel, Blaenavon.

The Former Park Street Methodist Church has been our chapel of rest for many years. As well as being our main chapel of rest, we are proud to offer this as an alternative venue to hold a funeral service.

The Funeral Home, Varteg.

Previously owned by B.M.Watkins Funeral Directors, these premises were aquired by Heritage Funeral Service in 2021 and after undergoing a refurbishment, was re-opened as our chapel of rest in August 2023.

What happens next?

In the days following on from a death, we will advise you on the next steps that need to be carried out, from registering a death to meeting with one of our experienced funeral directors to discuss your loved one’s funeral arrangements.
